Red Square, officially Central Plaza, is a large open square on the Seattle campus of the University of Washington that serves as a hub for two of the University's major axes, connecting the campus's northern Liberal Arts Quadrangle ("The Quad") with the science and engineering buildings found on the lower campus. In March 2018 (a decade after the change-ringing bell installation), the Gordon Stuart Peek Foundation installed a second set of bells at UW - a 47-bell Eisjbouts carillon, placed on a tower on Kane Hall. Like the change-ringing bells, the carillon is rung by a human person(s), not by a machine.
Kane then attended Johns Hopkins University for a law degree. Before becoming President of the University of Washington Kane joined the University of Washington faculty as a professor of Latin and Greek.
